Mittels Aktigraphie wurden Schlafparameter wie Schlafdauer, Regelm\u00e4\u00dfigkeit des Schlafes und Schlafunterbrechungen gemessen. Die Mortalit\u00e4t aufgrund von arteriosklerotisch bedingten Erkrankungen (im wesentlichen Herzinfarkt und Schlaganfall) war um 25 % geringer bei denjenigen, die regelm\u00e4\u00dfige Schlafzeiten hatten, ausreichend lange schliefen und keine behandlungsbed\u00fcrftige Schlafapnoe hatten.
